On Native Land
a print and video interactive instillation
"On Native Land" is a interactive instillation accompanied by a video. The piece was installed in the Emily Carr Universities Media Gallery from November 10th to 16th. The instillation consisted of a video of the artist talking about their relationship to St Marys residential school, describing the linolium tiles that the user stands upon to view the video. The top three rows of tiles have 6 images and texts carved into them, as well as a set of instructions and materials needed to make prints to take home.
